Yuri Luzhkov, Mayor of Moscow, visits Cherkizovo's new pig production complex in Lipetsk region
On the 2nd of June 2006 the Mayor of Moscow Yuri Luzhkov visited Cherkizovo Group's new pig production complex in Lipetsk region. Mr. Luzhkov estimated Lipetsk region as a key platform for realization of his concept of Moscow's food supply security. This concept implies promotion of industrial expansion of Moscow-based agricultural producers into neighboring regions, aimed at imports replacement on the Moscow food stuff market.

During the visit the Mayor of Moscow, who was accompanied by Lipetsk Governor Oleg Korolev and Chairman of the Board of Cherkizovo Group Igor Babaev, said that Cherkizovo is the most successful example of cooperation between the two regions. He expressed intention of the Moscow government to assist in distribution of the Group's products subsidized by the Administration of Lipetsk region.
