Cherkizovo Group opens new pig slaughtering line at its meat and poultry plant Penzensky28 May 2007 Cherkizovo Group held an official opening event of a new modern pork processing line at its meat and poultry plant Penzensky.
The ceremony was attended by Cherkizovo Group's President Igor Babayev, Governor of Penza region Vasiliy Bochkarev, Minister of Agriculture of Penza region Vladimir Reznichenko, Acting Director of Lipetskmyasoprom Andrey Bocharnikov, Head of Veterinary Department of Penza region Mikhail Galakhov, Head of Rospotrebnadzor's Regional Department for Penza Aleksandr Dmitriyev, Head of Sberbank's Penza branch №8624 Yuriy Yegorov and other state representatives.
Penzensky is a leading meat and poultry production and processing plant in the Povolzhye region. The launch of the new line will enable the plant to increase production volumes almost three-fold and bring down production costs, helping Cherkizovo Group to supply the population of the Povolzhsky region with high-quality competitive meat products.
Due to the implementation of state-of-the-art European equipment at the plant, Cherkizovo has been able to reduce the number staff required to operate the line to 20. Its production capacity of the line is 1,200 head per shift. Petrochelli, the Italian business, is the manufacture of the new slaughtering line equipment.
